The above quote by Mahatma Gandhi has been a driving force in my life. Not only is it important for me to thrive in my career, but also to be a change agent and be of value to any organization that I may be a part of in the future.

 

Dedication, timeliness, professionalism, team collaboration, and advocacy are what I pride myself in as a health professional and public health practitioner. My educational training has its foundation in health education, nursing, and international health.

 

My training and experience, thus far, has been a culmination of primary care, community health, health promotion/disease prevention, clinical research, abortion care, and advocacy for women's and adolescent health issues. I have the pleasure of working with diverse populations, including the LGBT communities and patients from varying socioeconomic statuses. Work within these communities and populations have provided valuable life lessons and highlights the complex interplay of contributing factors to health and access to health care. 

 

My passion is advocacy for vulnerable populations and understanding research of these populations is key to an adaptive healthcare culture.
