"To wish to be well is a part of becoming well". -Seneca, Roman Philosopher
Throughout my career thus far, women's and adolescent health have played a key role. In addition, research has been a primary interest that has intersected all areas. Below, see a brief description of my interests.

Women's Health
Historical movements have shed light on the vast inconsistencies between the genders. There is mounting evidence within healthcare at the existence of a chasm between treatment modalities and outcomes for women versus men. There is a myriad of health concerns for women outside of the childbirth experience, in which further discussion, assessment, research, and protocol creation is needed for better outcomes. Why do these outcomes occur? I chose to specialize in women's health for these reasons and to add to a collective body of healthcare information.

Adolescent Health
Adolescence is a vital period of transition into adulthood. Within this period, there is an intersection of issues related to safety, sexuality, mental health, substance abuse, violence, and homelessness. Educating supporting, and mentoring this group fosters stable and capable adults, which, in turn, transforms our communities. Focused health care and paradigms are minimal, to say the least; however, greater regard is being given to young people. In addition, I enjoy connecting to young people and observing the transformation!

Research
Research has always been a primary interest of mine. I understood early into my academic and chosen careers, that research is vital to support measures that influence policies, procedures, and directives. It is in essence the "numerical voice" of populations and treatment modalities that drive the adaptation of our healthcare systems, if collected and analyzed appropriately. In essence, I always ask "what do the numbers say?".

Other: Manchester City FC and Travelling
Outside of my career-related interests, I love dogs and cooking. In addition, I am an avid Manchester City football fan and have a tendency to sing "Blue Moon" on the spot. I love to travel and explore different cultures. The tapestry of humanity is breath-taking. Finally, my life would not be the same without my family, who add laughter and inspiration to my daily routine.
